Jan has been an owner, rider and painter of horses all her life, her speciality being the heavy horse. Jan likes to capture the character and beauty of all types of equines, painting from both life and photographs.

Part of her life has been farming and so gaining knowledge of Dairy, Beef and Sheep. Jan takes time to look and see the charateristics of animals she paints, so as to put their personality on canvas.
Her work is done mainly in acrylics. The pastel work done is mainly on character studies.
